As we embark on the holiday season, at Hero’s Bridge we have much to be thankful for. Primarily, we remain thankful for all our veterans and their service and dedication to our nation. We are grateful for our community that supports our efforts to ensure aging veterans are well cared for. We give thanks to our Board of Directors and volunteers who each go out of their way to help with the myriad of needs veterans may have. And I am thankful to the dedicated team that I work with that helps keeps everything running smoothly.

As we look forward to a new year, I am pleased to announce that I have left my role in healthcare to dedicate my energy full time to our veterans, staff, and volunteers. Our recent announcement regarding the building of a village of micro housing for our most alone veterans, coupled with the rapid increase of need from the community both necessitate my full attention. I look forward to narrowing my focus and increasing the impact for our veterans. As always, I so appreciate the trust and support of each of you on this journey to change how America’s veterans age.

I am proud to share with you our newest Honor Guard program, Guardians of Freedom, a travelling exhibit showcasing our veterans that was opened at Fauquier Health during Veteran’s Day. If you would like to have the exhibit displayed at your location, please contact us at outreach@herosbridge.org.

In 2021, we will launch a capital campaign to build the veteran’s village for our most at-risk veterans. The need for this is astounding, as you will see by watching our mini-documentary in this newsletter.
