Summer is still in full swing and so are our Village plans. We are excited to continue promoting our brick fundraiser for all of our supporters to leave their mark on the Village.
I would like to extend a special thanks to our Running for Hero’s partners, Bobby Brooks and Rick Heppard, veterans from Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom, respectively, who have logged countless training and marathon miles in an effort to support our Village. They are gearing up for marathon #7 this week and are prepared for a very early start to help combat a hot July day.
There are rumors that they will end this challenge in a spectacular way. Stay tuned for those details!
In the meantime, we continue to serve our veterans. Much of this summer has been spent in companion care for our veterans who simply need a little company or so their caregiver can step out for a little time of their own.
We look forward to working with our Eagle Scout in Troop 1187 on a home front project for a veteran in need next month.
