Although we have made a lot of sacrifices for the past six months as a result of COVID, I have to admit that being forced to slow down has given us a chance to better connect with our veterans. While we continue to serve them with our six distinct programs, we also took some time to learn their stories. In this newsletter you will read about two of our veterans.

We are also thankful to the PATH Foundation for featuring Hero’s Bridge in their Closer Look series. This video for Hero’s Bridge features Jack Lyons, a Vietnam Veteran who spent the last few years of his life caring for his wife who passed away last summer and then managing his treatment for cancer as a result of Agent Orange exposure. Jack passed away at the end of August. During his last few months Jack was one of our first veterans to use our new TeleHero tablets. The technology gave him medication reminders, allowed him to send his vital signs to his care team, and allowed anyone involved to perform instant video visits in order to keep him safe from COVID-19. He was a remarkable man who touched everyone who had the pleasure to meet him. We thank him for his service and wish that he rest in peace. Read the newsletter.
