A special event to assist veterans and family members in obtaining benefits.
Veterans and their family members who desire help obtaining veterans benefits are encouraged to attend a special event in Warrenton on Friday, May 17, 2019. Ken Wiseman, the VFW’s Virginia State Commander and an accredited Veterans Service Officer with extensive experience assisting Virginia veterans, will assist veterans and those in the military services, their family members and authorized representatives to prepare claims, follow-up on claims processing, or submit appeals to the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).
This will be accomplished during individual interviews and by completing necessary documents for submittal to the VA. Wiseman will offer individual sessions between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. at the PATH Resource Center, Rappahannock Conference Room, 321 Walker Drive Suite 201, Warrenton, VA. There is no charge for attendance as this opportunity is offered free on behalf of local veterans.
This event is a follow-up to Ken’s informational briefing on veterans’ benefits held on January 23, 2019, which was attended by approximately 60 veterans and dependents from the local community with separate one-on-one counselling for more than a dozen attendees to assist processing their VA benefits claims.
Please register in advance at www.letsvolunteer.org or by email to Bruce Campbell to schedule an appointment. If you are unable to attend on this date, this will be a recurring event, and the next one is scheduled for August 2, 2019.
