March has always felt like a month of momentum, where the quiet of winter gives way to action, energy, and renewed purpose. For all of us at Hero’s Bridge, that spirit is on full display as we come together to honor, serve, and build.
Just days ago, our community gathered for the Vietnam Veterans 5K, a meaningful tribute to those who served during a complex and often underrecognized chapter in our nation’s history. Events like this are more than moments on a calendar; they are reminders that our veterans deserve to be seen, supported, and remembered, not just once a year, but every day. To everyone who showed up, sponsored, volunteered, or simply held our mission in your heart…thank you.
As we look ahead, we are also preparing to enter April, National Volunteer Month. At Hero’s Bridge, volunteers are not just supporters of the mission, they are the mission in motion. From providing a ride to the doctor and making check-in calls, to offering companionship and critical support, our volunteers ensure that no aging veteran feels forgotten or alone. Their compassion and consistency are what make our work possible.
This is also a season of building, both figuratively and literally. With continued progress toward Hero’s Bridge Village, we are closer than ever to creating a permanent place where older veterans can live with dignity, connection, and care. We are on our third round of site plan comments with the Town. Every step forward is made possible by a community that believes deeply in what we are doing together.
If you’ve ever considered getting involved, there is no better time. Whether through volunteering, donating, or helping us bring the Village to life, you are part of this story.
Together, we are building something that will last, for those who have already given so much.
