This is much more than a ground stake. It represents the future and a promise fulfilled. If you were to visit the site of the Village, you would see these stakes throughout the four-acre property where the cottages will be built. Each stake is a corner of a cottage. For our fundraiser at the end of September, strings will be run from corner to corner to illustrate the footprint of every cottage.
While these phases may appear to be painstakingly small, they are actually quite significant. Each phase of the Village brings us one step closer to groundbreaking, and from there, the Village will begin to take shape. Between each phase, business as usual continues at Hero’s Bridge and I have a few things to let you know.
First, after several happy years with the same donor software company, their service has deteriorated drastically leaving us no choice but to change companies. If you have donated to support our heroes, things may look different next time. If you are a member of our Hero Helper Club you will receive specific instructions via email on how this will affect you. Your support is so important and we appreciate your patience as we work through this transition.
Also, can you believe that next year Hero’s Bridge will celebrate it’s 10th anniversary of serving aging veterans? In advance of this important milestone we feel it important to look back on our journey and also develop a comprehensive plan for the future. Through a generous Technical Assistance grant from the PATH Foundation, we are embarking on our first ever strategic planning process. As part of the process we want to hear from you! This morning many of you received a short survey in your email. I hope you will take a few minutes to share your thoughts and experiences. If you’ve been on this journey with us since the beginning or just learned about us, your voice matters.
As always, thank you for continued support.
