A Note from Molly: January 2026 Newsletter

Apr 14, 2026 | Newsletter

Winter has a way of slowing everything down. The days are shorter, the air is colder, and even the world feels a little quieter after a snowfall. And yet, this season also reveals something powerful: who shows up when it’s hard, cold, or inconvenient.

At Hero’s Bridge, winter reminds us why our mission matters so deeply. Many of the older veterans we serve feel the cold more acutely, physically and emotionally. Isolation can creep in. Routines change. Needs increase. And that’s exactly when connection matters most.

Because of you, your generosity, your time, your belief, our veterans are not facing this season alone. Phone calls are being answered. Meals are being shared. Rides are being given. Warmth, in all its forms, is reaching those who need it most.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, I’m reminded that love doesn’t always look like roses or chocolates. Sometimes love looks like consistency. Like checking in. Like showing up again and again, especially when the weather (or life) is tough.

Thank you for being part of this community. Thank you for standing with our older veterans through every season. What you do truly matters, and I am so grateful to walk this mission alongside you.

Stay warm, take care of one another, and know how much you are appreciated.
